Duvet Care:

SnugSleep duvets are " Dry Clean" only. Washing a SnugSleep duvet is not recommended because the wool may clump and loft will be reduced. When you get out of bed each morning, shake the comforter to restore the wool loft. You should also air the comforter regularly on dry breezy days. This will give the wool a chance to dissipate any water in the wool fibres.

With good day to day care, however, a wool duvet can last years without needing to be dry cleaned. It is best to keep a duvet in a duvet cover, which is like a big pillowcase with ties, buttons or Velcro at the open end. A duvet cover looks good and protects the comforter from dirt and dust. If a spill does reach the duvet, spot-clean the area with a dilute Woolskin solution ( 1 Woolskin :10 water).

Soft wool knops are an exciting new concept in wool fill material.  SnugSleep™ wool filled pillows are filled with wool knops. Wool knops are little balls of soft pure new wool- the size of a pill. These spherical clusters of pure New Zealand wool, are ideally suited for use in pillows because of their superior bulk and resilience.

Soft Wool Knops were developed by the Wool Research Organisation of New Zealand ( WRONZ).

• The Process : 33 to 37 micron wool, selected for its good colour and natural resilience, is formed into small, airy clusters of pure wool fibre using purpose built machinery. An anti-felting and softening treatment is applied, which give the knops a soft handle and improves their  performance without affecting the wool’s natural comfort and insulating properties.
  
  
• Performance : The construction of the soft wool knop enhances the comfort properties of wool. The natural bulk and resilience of wool is increased;  which means that pillows will maintain their thickness and loft much longer. Comparative user trials which measured thickness loss in pillows confirm the high resilience of soft wool knop fill.
  
  
  
• Care and cleaning : Soft knop pillows can be dry-cleaned in a moisture free system with slight loss of filling bulk. Alternatively, pillows can be machine-washed on a  "gentle" or  “wool cycle”. Machine washing tends to cause some bulk loss, which can be partially restored by tumble-drying. See below for more detailed laundry instructions.

Pillow Care:

Re-fluffing or Restoring :

Place pillow or pillows( max. 2) in dryer with a wet ( wrung out ) towel. Tumble for 5 - 8 minutes using the "Hot" setting. Remove and allow to cool. The steam released will re-fluff the wool knops.

Laundry:

• Cover Only: Unzip cover and pour loose knops into a large plastic bag. Launder cotton cover with other bedding articles. Refill and use. You should be aware that the cotton cover will shrink when washed. This means that you will probably not need all of the wool knops you previously used for your ideally shaped pillow. Store these for later use.

• Whole pillows can be hand washed if necessary. Fill laundry tub with lukewarm water and add Woolskin:- 20mL per pillow. Woolskin contains Tea Tree Oil and is effective against dust mites. Push pillow into the water and leave for 10 minutes. Drain tub and refill with cool water to rinse the pillow.. Do not agitate. Drain again and spin in washing machine to remove excess water. Place in dryer for up to 5 minutes using the HOT setting.  Remove and air dry.
