Excellent Quality!

These double-chrome tanned, very high pile density Merino sheepskins are machine washable (up to 30 degrees Celcius) and have a dense 30 mm pile. Down-Under Wool Australian Medical Sheepskins are 7-8 square feet in area.

Use:

Being ill or convalescent is bad enough. Being uncomfortable in bed or a chair is doubly distressing. It is also unnecessary. The soft, springy wool fibres of an Australian Medical Sheepkin absorb pressure from immobile limbs and joints. The 30 mm pile prevents skin from creasing, and greatly reduces the risk of developing sores. Australian Medical Sheepskins are carefully selected skins that are specially treated; being tanned and fast dyed for prolonged use and easy laundering.
Australian Medical Sheepskin comfort is due to:

1. Reduction of body pressure at points of contact

2. Lower friction (compared with cotton sheets) when the skin is placed directly on the Medical Sheepskin

3. The wool fibres which allow free air circulation, absorb moisture up to 34% of their dry weight without feeling wet, and wick the moisture away from the skin.

The chief causes of bed or pressure sores; pressure, friction, and moisture are greatly reduced when you sit or lie on an Australian Medical Sheepskin.

Care:

Australian Medical Sheepskins should be washed as you would wash a wollen sweater. We recommend that you use Woolskin - a detergent developed by the sheepskin tanning industry for the washing, conditioning and disinfection of sheepskins. These same skins are used to produce: M109 Sheepskin Crutches Covers, M110 Sheepskin Elbow Pad, M111 Sheepskin Walker Handle Covers, M112 Sheepskin Heel Pad, M125 Sheepskin Wheelchair Arm Pads, and M126 Sheepskin Foot Plate Covers.
