Use Wool Colour as a guide:

  •  Royal Blue Wool products have the highest wool pile density of 1900(+)  GSM ( gram per square metre)
  •  Medical Green Wool products have a pile density of 1400-1600 (+)  GSM
  •  White Wool products have a pile density of about 550 - 1050 GSM

The higher the GSM, the more wool per square inch and the greater pressure reduction. All products contain the very best fine Merino wool; and give enhanced comfort along with pressure sore prevention.

Pressure Sore Prevention involves reducing 3 factors:

  • Pressure
  • Skin Moisture
  • Shear or skin tearing forces

All of our products do this to varying degrees. A general rule of thumb is..the more fine wool that is in contact with the skin ( the higher the GSM),  the greater will be the reduction of these factors. All products are machine washable.

CARE:

All products should be laundered in Woolskin..the special detergent and conditioner developed by the tanning industry in Australia. The leather backing on sheepskin products will be damaged if normal household detergents eg Tide or Woolite are used. Woolskin conditions and disinfects wool using Tea Tree Oil and Myrtle Oil ensuring reduced chances of infection of open wounds.
