Green Australian Medical Sheepskin AS4480.1: Straight or Curly Wool?
Australian Medical Sheepskin AS44480.1 (M102) is now available with straight wool fibers or curly wool fibers. Straight wool is obtained by ironing the wool at the end of the sheepskin production process. The wool fibre has a crimp but is basically straight. After washing a few times, the fibers felt and create columns of body supporting wool.- the most effective format for pressure sore prevention. The pile density varies a little in different parts; being most dense down the middle of the sheepskin. Straight wool sheepskins have the natural shape associated with sheepskin.
The curly variant (M102C) is rectangular ( 60 cm x 90 cm =24" x 36") and of even pile density throughout. The wool changes very little with washing.
Which is best? Both variants are HiTemp Wash and Urine Resistant. The M102 is natural shape and is easy to adapt for wheelchair and bed use. The M102C is rectangular and may be better for bed use.
Use either 24/7 for best protection
